Controls: Arrow Keys to move around. SPACE to attack nearby enemies. M = Mute. P = Pause
About: Designed as a vertical slice for an example level. Instead of trying to prototype the game feature by feature, I wanted to see what the final product would look like. I intended for the project to be heavily art-focused, meaning that the levels could be designed and drawn within the Flash IDE itself:
- Collision / hit testing uses rectangular sprites and an arbitrarily drawn terrain.
- Lighting is done with an additive “Highlight” layer and a multiplicative “Shadow” layer
- Particles are provided by the awesome Flint Particle system.
While I was exploring my options with graphics engines, I made the game using Flixel as well: Flixel Version
