Description:

Slush Invaders Game is a flash game based off a popular animation made in 2011. It puts a twist on traditional “kitten cannon” type games by allowing players to actively attack the main target. Players progress through each of the levels by propelling the “Big Blue” (the antagonist) through the air, while dealing with different enemy types along the way.

There 20+ levels take place from a college campus, to the countryside, a winter village, and even into a digital world. The game features multiple boss battles that come with powerful strategy-changing rewards.

Players really enjoyed the game play and graphics. The game has its own wiki, with game strategies and fan art.

Technical:

I was the sole game programmer and designer. I wrote the game engine from scratch in Flash and utilized the free TweenMax library to help with animated transitions and effects. Game characters simulate basic AI by comparing target conditions (usually inequalities like pos_x > 10, or hp < 50) to pick appropriate actions. With the help of Sham Bhangal’s VCam, I was able to dynamically change the camera’s position and size.
